No charges will be laid against police in last year’s daylight shooting in Yaletown.
A suspect shot the owner of a popular bike shop last June, before setting off a police chase along the seawall toward Science World, where a class of students on a field trip had to be held inside.
The suspect exchanged bullets with police and was hit himself, but survived.
The bike shop owner was critically hurt, but recovered as well.
Gerald Battersby, a former employee at the bike shop, has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder.
The Independent Investigations Office looked into the case and forwarded a report to Crown, suggesting an officer may have been in the wrong that day.
Crown prosecutors now say no charge will be laid because the evidence is not good enough.
