The B.C. government has announced changes to the way alcohol is served in restaurants.
It used to be that if you wanted to have a drink, you would have to either order something to eat as well, or sit in a designated lounge.
You now do not have to do that.
Ian Tostenson is with the BC Restaurant and Food Services Association.
“You used to walk into a restaurant and you would have to go left to have a drink and right to have food. Now you can go anywhere in a restaurant, so there is no requirement to have a separate area just to have a drink.”
The government has been overhauling the province’s liquor laws for several months.
