An industrial accident near Pemberton has claimed the life of a 39-year-old man.
RCMP say it happened at 10:00 Wednesday night at a run-of-river hydro project near Pebble Creek Hot Springs.
Sergeant Rob Knapton says the two men were handling explosives….
“Currently, we’re on scene awaiting our explosives disposal unit to attend and ensure the area is safe then we’ll be conducting an investigation along with WorkSafe and the BC Coroner’s Service.”
A second employee was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
The RCMP’s bomb disposal unit, WorkSafeBC, and the Coroner are all on the scene.
The man who died was 39, but he hasn’t been identified.
