The Vancouver Giants are hoping the Kootenay Ice don’t know the power of the Dark Side.
The team will be wearing new Star Wars themed uniforms when they face off against the WHL rivals on December 4th at the D̶e̶a̶t̶h̶ ̶S̶t̶a̶r̶ Pacific Coliseum.
Modeled to look like Storm Troopers from the popular film franchise, the uniforms are being rolled out as a part of a charity drive for the Shriners of BC and Yukon in support of Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Proceeds from the game, along with money raised by auctioning the uniforms will both go to the charity – which appears to be the only way fans will be able to get their hands on one.
The Giants aren’t the first WHL team to partner with LucasFilm to roll out Star Wars jersies.
Earlier this month, the Saskatoon Blades showed off sweaters modeled on the Battle of Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back as a part of an upcoming Star Wars night in support of Saskatchewan Food Banks.
