Translink is rolling out the next phase of the Compass Card program.
As of this Saturday, an additional fare gate will be closed at most Expo and Millennium Line Skytrain stations.
It’s in an effort to get riders in the habit of remembering to tap in and out.
Spokesperson Jennifer Morland says some people are forgetting.
“There were $7,000 that we did refund to our customers. And if customers do have questions, or if they didn’t tap out and they were charged for the incorrect fare for the zones that they traveled, then we encourage them to call us and we will make it right for our customers and they will be able to pay for the zones that they traveled.”
December is the last month you can use your paper monthly passes and tickets. You’ll have to have a Compass Card by Jan. 1, though, you will be still be able to use FareSaver tickets.
Translink has refunded more than $15,000 in refunds so far this month to people who didn’t tap off, making more than 6,500 “no tap-off adjustments.”
