Nine years later, human remains that were found on an island in the Georgia Strait have been identified.
A few days after Christmas in 2006, the lighthouse keeper on Merry Island had been out for a walk when he found some bones.
He reported it to the authorities, but police couldn’t crack the case.
On Tuesday, the coroner says DNA analysis has confirmed the remains belong to a 65-year-old Burnaby woman
Lan Ping Leung, also known as Monica Tam, was reported missing not long after her remains were found.
