ICBC is again reminding the public to be aware on the roads, whether you’re a driver, pedestrian or cyclist.
With the wet weather ramping up and the days getting shorter, Joanna Lynsangan with ICBC says the risk of accidents increases.
But she says there are steps pedestrians can take steps to be safe.
“Dress to be seen. It’s incredibly important, especially given the fact that we are deep into the fall and creeping the winter season, we have darker days, bad weather, poor road conditions, so it’s incredibly important to make sure you’re doing all that you can to make yourself seen by drivers.”
Nine pedestrians have already been killed in Vancouver this year, and eight more in Surrey – including one just last Saturday.
A 45-year old man was hit by a vehicle at 128th Street and 96th Avenue.
