While Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall is calling on the federal government to pause the refugee influx in the wake of the attacks in Paris, B.C. Premier Christy Clark is offering up a more measured response.
“As Canadians, as compassionate people, who have prosperity to share, we want to make sure that we open our doors to give them somewhere safe to live, as soon as we can, but knowing that everyone who comes has been properly screened, and the safety of Canadians comes first.”
She says it’s all up to the federal government to ensure the proper screening is done.
Premier Wall posted his letter on Twitter.
