A 74-year-old man is in hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Abbotsford.
Police responded to the call Tuesday evening at Slocan and Tretheway streets.
Constable Paul Walker says the elderly man was in serious condition, and the male driver remain at the scene.
He adds alcohol is not a factor, but it’s too early to tell if speed played a role.
Meanwhile, in Surrey, a 39-year-old woman is in critical condition with severe injuries to her legs and head after she was struck at a crosswalk.
Mounties say a blue Dodge Caravan was travelling East on 75A Avenue when it hit the woman near 125 Street.
The driver is cooperating with the investigation.
Alcohol and speed are not believed to have played a part.
