Video foreshadows kids’ political future
In the 33-year-old video, Wilson tells Trudeau he has two children back home in Vancouver Island, watching the conference.
“Both of whom, for some misguided reason, say they want to be a lawyer. Both of whom want to be the Prime Minister. Both of whom, Mr. Prime Minister, are women.”
More than 30 years later, Wilson’s daughter is Justice Minister in the cabinet of Trudeau’s son, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
When she was sworn in yesterday, Jody Wilson-Raybould became the first Aboriginal person to become Justice Minister.
