The City of Abbotsford is going to court to shut down the halfway house where a three-time child-sex offender lives.
James Conway has been living at the home on Joanita Place since August.
The community has protested him living in their city. The halfway house has been vandalized and flooded.
In a notice of civil claim filed in BC Supreme Court this week, the city claims the halfway house is violating its land-use bylaws.
It’s asking for the facility to be shut down and for other costs.
At a rally in September, Mayor Henry Braun told residents the city would use an agricultural zoning bylaw to remove Conway.
