Do you live in Vancouver and have problems with your neighbour? As a result, are you constantly calling the police or city hall?
Help may be on the way!
Vancouver council is looking at imposing service fees to recover the cost of responding to repeated nuisance calls generated by problem properties.
The city already has the authority to address nuisance concerns through a variety of existing bylaws.
The purpose of bringing in a new nuisance bylaw would be to impose service fees.
Through this approach the city would try and recover costs associated with inspecting properties that require a high number of visits thanks to neighbourhood complaints.
Surrey and Abbotsford have similar bylaws in place.
