Night shot cameras, DVR cameras, EMF meters, and sound recorders.
All tools of the trade for a ghost hunter, according to Carolyn Bennett with the Canadian Haunting And Paranormal Society.
Bennett says paranormal activity is easy to disprove and very difficult to prove, so the first thing they do is look for a logical explanation of what’s happening.
“If a client says, ‘my lights go off and on’, well, that could be an electrical issue, ‘you should have that looked at’. If we can’t find a logical explanation for it, and able to re-produce it ourselves – that’s when we would kick into investigation mode.”
The society doesn’t charge anything for their work, but is made up of enthusiasts who volunteer their time.
“I hope that…someday, the technology and the tools will actually be able to provide the irrefutable evidence…that there’s something there.”
But, Bennett says, we don’t yet have the technology to 100% prove that paranormal activity exists.
