We’re learning more about the victim in the whale watching boat tragedy who lived in B.C.
British national Katie Taylor, 29, was living in Whistler when she decided to go on a whale watching adventure near Tofino last weekend.
She was one of five people who lost their lives when the Leviathan II capsized.
The popular young woman worked as a supervisor at the Whistler Day Spa at the Pan Pacific.
Friend Phil Jones says she was furthering her wish for Canadian residency and on Sunday, hours before the accident, and posted photos from Tofino eating fish and chips.
Her family has released a brief statement that says Katie was a “vibrant, outgoing and lovely young woman. She will be very much missed by all of her family and many friends.”
