The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is applauding Canada Post’s decision to stop replacing door-to-door delivery with community mailboxes.
National President of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers Mike Palecek says workers are ecstatic with the decision.
“We’ve been campaigning for this for the past two year straight, ever since the cuts were announced. We are glad Canada Post has finallly recognized the results of the election last week. It would have been nice if they had done this before tens of thousands of people lost their service.”
Palecek says he is not sure when and if door to door service will be re-instated in neighbourhoods that lost it to community mailboxes.
