There is light voter turnout so far at many polling stations across Surrey.
There are certainly not the long lines as seen at the advance polls.
Most voters arrived at polling stations early to avoid line-ups, but they were more than surprised when they were in and out in five minutes, like this man in North Surrey.
“I know they are calling for a large turnout, and I was surprised it wasn’t as busy that it was and I would expect today it’s going to increase….I’m sure it’s an election everyone wants to have some input on.”
Voters also commenting on how friendly and polite elections staff have been.
Another man pointed out voters are being greeted in both in English and French.
“You know, well-prepared, very congenial, they all have bilingual people there, they read to you in either English or French, and I was really impressed. They’ve got some good volunteers there that really are meeting the needs of the voting public.”
Voting line ups are expected to pick up during the afternoon hours.
