Is this the first concession of the night?
Burnaby-North Seymour has been one of the more hotly contested ridings in this election, but one of the more high profile candidates has all but conceded with two hours to go in this campaign.
Green candidate Lynn Quarmby says support for her has gone up during this campaign, but it hasn’t translated into votes.
Just last week, some anti-pipeline activists said they’d back NDP contender Carol Baird Ellan.
Quarmy says she blames strategic voting for that.
“It was so heavily pushed — I understand people voting out of fear and it’s really unfortunate because I think if everyone who had wanted to see me be their MP had the courage to vote for me, I would be winning this election. But I don’t think that’s going to happen at this point.”
