Who wouldn’t want to win $64 million dollars?
You have a chance to win it all with a historic jackpot in today’s Lotto 6/49 draw but chances are slim.
You can buy all the tickets you want but SFU professor of statistics Richard Lockhart says the odds of winning the $64 million dollar jackpot aren’t good.
“About one in 14 million, a little bit less than 14 million, which isn’t good.”
While it’s nice to daydream, Lockhart says even if you buy a ticket, chances are you’re still likely coming in to work on Monday.
“In Canada, about one person in nine million is killed by lightning every year. So one in 14 million is less likely than that.”
Last month, a group of 12 workers from Ontario shared a winning ticket for the Lotto Max jackpot of $60 million dollars.
