Friends and family have identified the 22-year-old man who was killed Wednesday morning in Surrey while waiting for the bus.
He was Evan Archibald.
His sister, Chantalle, posts on Facebook: “At a loss for words. My only brother. … Now you are taken from us.”
RCMP Corporal Scotty Schumann say a Jeep was turning left at Fraser Highway and 156th Street.
” “It mounted the curb on the southeast corner and unfortunately struck a pedestrian that was sitting on a bench at the bus shelter.”
A 17-year-old girl was at the wheel. She was treated for minor injuries and remained at the scene.
Police add weather may have been a factor in the crash.
