Friends and family are identifying the woman who died in a strange accident after getting stuck in a clothing donation bin.
She was a 45 year old homeless woman, advocate and volunteer.
Her name was Anita Hauck.
Police say Hauck had apparently been leaning into the bin through its small raised opening when she fell inside and became stuck, upside down.
It wasn’t known how long she was suspended in that position before help arrived.
She was rushed to hospital Sunday night, but later died.
Hauck was a resident of the contentious Cliff Avenue homeless camp.
She often spoke publicly about addiction, poverty, and housing while volunteering at the local Salvation Army.
Staff there are also grieving her loss, and are thinking about planning a memorial.
