A former Seattle Thunderbirds player is suing the City of Vancouver, after he struck his head before a game against the Vancouver Giants at Pacific Coliseum two years ago.
In a notice of civil claim filed in BC Supreme Court, winger Connor Honey says he hit his head on the cement overhang while exiting the ice rink during the pre-game warm up.
He alleges the city was negligent because it failed to ensure the exists were properly designed, and failed to put up a caution sign warning of the lowered ceiling.
The suit says Honey suffered a concussion and pain and stiffness to his neck.
None of the allegations have been proven in court.
