The Conservatives have pledged $700 million to building light-rail transportation in Surrey if they are re-elected.
Industry Minister James Moore, along with a number of Conservative candidates, made the announcement Monday.
The cash would make up a third of the costs needed to build it the two lines connected Surrey to Langley.
The federal funding has never been in doubt. It’s the rest of the money that need to be nailed down, from municipal and private coffers, after the Lower Mainland’s transit plebiscite failed earlier this year.
