If you’re looking for Blue Jays gear. Get in line!
Sports apparel stores around Metro Vancouver say they’re selling out fast.
Mike Jackson at Vancouver’s Corner Sports says with the team in the playoffs for the first time in 22 years, demand is only building.
“It’s huge. We’re getting a lot of people walking in here and they’re phoning of course, and we’ve started a waiting list and were getting people’s phone numbers and letting them know as soon as it gets here.”
Jackson says jerseys and hats sell as soon as they hit the shelves.
He says with national interest, restocking his shop is starting to get tricky.
Meanwhile, at Coquitlam’s Jersey City, Russell McCall says the crush is reminiscent of the Canuck’s 2011 cup run, with one difference.
Getting new stock is even tougher because of national demand.
“Everybody’s a Blue Jay’s fan”
“Pretty much the moment we get it it’s gone right away. Everybody’s calling in every day looking for Blue Jays stuff, getting disappointed. Everywhere you look, there’s nothing Blue Jays “
And McCall isn’t alone, shops across Metro Vancouver are selling out and setting up waiting lists.
That means many Jays fans late to the game may just strike out in search for a coveted cap.
