Ever have trouble getting a cab in Vancouver?
Ever wish you had access to Uber, the ride-sharing service?
Uber’s Chief Strategist, David Plouffe, says it could become a reality.
He’s in Vancouver this week, consulting with business leaders, and stopped by CKNW.
Lynda Steele asked if she’ll be able to use the ride-share service in 2016?
“I would definitely expect and hope so. To think about a city like Vancouver, with its environmentally conscious leadership, with the fact that is not just one dense urban area, it is a large Metro area.”
He says Vancouver is the largest North American city without Uber.
There are 16-thousand drivers in Toronto, and 10-thousand in Seattle.
Plouffe admits there are some kinks to work out when it comes to insurance.
He adds Uber would rather work with local government, than forcing themselves into the market.
