The Dewdney Slough Bridge, linking Mission to Hope, has officially opened, but the Province’s Transportation Ministry says there will still be minor delays.
Motorists travelling on that bridge can’t go any faster than 30 kilometers an hour.
Trucks with loads weighing more than 17,000 kg can’t cross the bridge.
The Ministry hopes to have the bridges open to two lanes and have legal load limits back in place by the end of the week.
This morning vehicles traveled over the bridge as a single lane of alternating traffic.
Last week the bridge had a structural issue, which was caused by a weakened support pile.
This caused a crack in the bridge.
