A two-hour standoff in East Vancouver has resulted in one man being arrested after attacking two people.
Police were called to East 43rd and Sophia for reports of a man wandering around with blood on his head.
Constable Brian Montague says when police found that man, he told them a tenant who lives in the same house above him came down and attacked him and another woman.
When officers responded to the house, Montague says the suspect would not come out.
“It was about a two hour standoff with our officers and negotiators; he eventually did come out the door and surrendered himself to police.”
Montague says both the men and woman who were attacked we taken to hospital with serious but non life threatening injuries.
The standoff forced nearby John Oliver Secondary to be put in a temporary lockdown.
