A new poll of battleground BC ridings shows the Liberal Party making big gains in the province.
The Insights West survey shows the NDP still leads in four of seven key southern BC and Vancouver Island ridings.
“Those areas which have been traditionally voting Liberal but have forgotten to do so in the last two elections because they maybe weren’t that happy with the leaders are definitely moving now towards the Liberal party under Justin Trudeau, which is definitely good news for the party. They are coming off one of their worst elections in BC history.”
NDP Still leading the pack in BC
But the Liberals — who were reduced to a pair of Vancouver seats in 2011 are showing life.
The Grits now lead in South Vancouver and two north shore races.
Canseco says the boost is a mix of national and local factors.
“Now I think what they did is recruit candidates who are very well known. I think they have really struck the right chord as far as getting people to vote for the party, but also getting candidates who a lot of people know and recognize.”
Canseco says the Conservatives trailed in all seven ridings, but have managed rebound from their worst lows during the peak of the Duffy trial.
