NDP leader Tom Mulcair is in Vancouver with a new campaign promise, and he says this one is good for your health.
Tom Mulcair says an NDP government will build 200 health clinics and hire doctors to give more Canadians access to a physician.
Mulcair says right now sixty percent of Canadians can’t get in to see a family physician, and he’s vowing to change that.
“We’ll help up to five million more Canadians gain access to a family doctor, and community health services. We will work with the provinces, providing infrastructure funding to help build or expand 200 clinics across Canada.”
The plan would see $300 million go towards building those clinics and $200 million to recruit doctors, nurse practitioners, and other health professionals in the form of recruitment grants, each worth between $15,000 and $50,000.
