Parts of the Kamloops fire region have had the open burning ban lifted.
Included are the Clearwater Fire Zone, and areas above 1200 metres in the Salmon Arm Fire Zone.
The remainder of Salmon Arm will see its ban stay in place to October 1st.
The rest of the Kamloops Fire Centre – inlcuding Vernon, Penticton, Merritt and Lillooet, those remain until at least October 15th.
Anyone caught either burning an open fire, or using fireworks, sky lanterns – even burning barrels – could be issued a $345 ticket.
You could also face anywhere between a $10,000 to $100,000 fine, and/or be sentenced to a year in jail.
