The Jewish Community is celebrating tonight.
It’s called Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. Every Jewish Synagogue in Metro Vancouver will hold services for the next few days. Rabbi Moskovitz says the Jewish holiday is about reflecting on the past year with special rituals.
“We blast a ram’s horn called a shofar, which is a biblical instrument to announce the coming of the New Year. We eat apples dipped in honey as a symbol of the sweetness of the year and we eat special bread at this time of year, Jews eat a challa bread”
Rosh Hashanah ends Tuesday evening.
