Vancouver Police have no suspects and made no arrests in an alleged attempted abduction from Stanley Park.
Around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, police say the eight year old was approached and grabbed at the foot of Denman street near the seawall.
VPD Constable Brian Montague says the earlier description of the suspect still stands.
“At this point, all we can share is what we shared earlier: He’s considered a white man, slim build, described as dirty looking, and he was wearing green clothing.”
Montague adds the eight year old victim is safe and didn’t require medical attention.
“While shaken by this incident, the little girl was unharmed. She did not require a hospital or to be treated by paramedics.”
Montague says the suspect was last seen at the under pass near Lost Lagoon, but despite the use of a K9 Unit, were unable to track him.
Montague says the Forensic Investigation Unit has gathered evidence and hopes to have more on the suspect.
“We will continue to identify and speak with witnesses. They’re currently working to attempt a composite sketch. Obviously, we will be searching the area today and tomorrow for any video.”
Montague says there may be surveillance video near the area which could provide a more concrete description of the alleged suspect.
