Don’t let his death be in vain.
That from a Syrian refugee living in Vancouver.
“This child doesn’t deserve this. Nobody deserves this.”
31-year-old Danny Ramadan says looking at the now infamous photo of child refugee Alan Kurdi washed ashore on a Turkish beach crushed him.
“I saw that photo in the morning. I have been trying to actually keep myself away from the media for a while, because I keep seeing really disturbing photos coming from my home country, and they are keeping me up at night.”
Ramadan says the federal government also needs to expedite the application process, saying it can take years.
He disputes Conservative Leader Stephen Harper’s claims more military action against ISIS is the answer.
“Military action on ISIS is going to be targeting ISIS, it’s going to be dropped bombs on areas causing more refugees to flee the country.”
Ramadan is calling on more Canadians to privately sponsor a Syrian refugee to come to Canada, like he was last year.
