The rain has been finally returned, but the Regional District says it’s going to take a whole lot more to make a difference in our reservoirs.
Despite hours of heavy rainfall, Marilyn Towill with the Metro Vancouver says it will still be at least another month before water restrictions will be changed.
“The amount that we got over the weekend was less that what was being forecast, so we actually didn’t see a lot of recovery in our storage lakes on the North Shore mountains.”
Towill says the level at the reservoir remains at about 55%.
She says this means restrictions will likely remain at Stage 3 until October.
