It’s the news no one wants to hear, in the midst of Metro Vancouver’s windstorm.
Surrey RCMP say a woman was rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries, after being struck by a falling tree.
It happened at around 12-30 this afternoon, as she was walking with her daughter on 100 Avenue near 148th street.
The daughter managed to jump out of the way and was not injured.
Police need help identifying woman
Officers are now trying to identify the woman, so they can contact next of kin.
Police are also urging people to stay at home and travel only if it is necessary, as conditions are quite hazardous with fallen trees and power lines down.
