Could watering restrictions in Metro Vancouver be changing soon?
The city says it depends on how much rain hits the ground this weekend.
With some possible rain in the forecast for Metro Vancouver by Friday and into early next week, we could see some relief to Metro Vancouver’s drought conditions.
Marilyn Towill with the city says if enough rain pours down, watering restrictions could move from stage three down to stage two.
The city will be monitoring rainfall over the weekend.
“We will still look at the forecast. We’ll do that assessment next week once we see what this rain event does for us. If we see significant reservoir recovery, then we’ll seriously look at making the change, backing out of stage three, but at this point it’s too early to tell, so we’ll need to take a look at that and make our assessment”.
Towill says the rain is much needed. Water reservoirs’ are sitting at 55 percent, below the normal average.
