Federal Green Party leader Elizabeth May was in Metro Vancouver on Tuesday, touting her plan for a national housing strategy.
May says it’s shameful Canada is the only OECD country without a national plan, and she’ll change that.
She tells reporters the fact Vancouver’s mayor has failed to end homelessness as promised doesn’t phase her.
“Because we can do it on a national level. No one level of government and no one city can tackle homelessness. … We believe Canada will work better and we believe in a Canada that works together.”
The Green’s full budget will be released after Labour Day.
May also says voting Green will help avoid partisan sniping and get things done in what will likely be a minority government.
