The Okanogan Complex wildfire burning south of the B.C. border in north-central Washington, is now estimated to cover about 1000-square-kilometres, and growing.
While homes and structures have been destroyed, there is no confirmation of how many at this time.
Last week, three firefighters were killed and four others seriously injured when they were trapped after the winds changed direction.
According to CBS News, 200 soldiers have now been trained to help in fighting the fires in Washington state, joining a team of about 1,250 firefighters who are already on scene.
