If you’re looking to lockdown your love for your significant other, chances are you’ll be able to do that soon – in Vancouver.
Wednesday the City of Vancouver’s ‘Talk Vancouver’ page launched a survey to ask Vancouverites where – in the city – a love lock sculpture should go.
The City’s park development manager, Tiina Mack, says they wanted to do something that was special for not only the city – but for the lovers who choose to hang these padlocks symbolizing their love.
“So that was part of our research, part of the staff suggestion. Let’s work with a local artist. Let’s – once we’ve determined the best location for these – find someone locally to work with us to create a unique and custom Vancouver sculpture where we can hang love locks.”
Mack says once they know where the sculpture is going, the city will look for an artist it can commission.
Voting is open online from now until September 16th.
