Two people in a helicopter crash on the island have walked away unscathed.
The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre sent two search planes up at about 10:45 this morning when the choppers emergency transmitter went off.
Soon after the wreckage was spotted about 35 kilometers west of Nanaimo in a wooded area.
The two occupants were picked up but only had a few scratches.
The private aircraft did not fare so well – it will have to be removed.
Transport Canada and the Transportation Safety Board have been notified.
