Friends of a Vancouver woman who is battling cancer and has lost her entire family have launched a crowdfunding effort to help her out.
Friends of Marnie Gharrett say the 911 operator lost her mother and the last member of her immediate family, her husband, recently.
Her husband Mark Stacey went for a walk in Kitsilano May 30th and returned with a head injury and no memory of how it happened.
Days later he was rushed to hospital where he died.
After an investigation Vancouver Police determined he had fallen and the injury leading to his death was nothing suspicious.
Her friends say her entire world has crashed down around her and she is now off work and with no pension, no life insurance on her husband, and no significant savings.
