The Wood Lake forest fire continues to burn north of Harrison Hot Springs.
The human-caused fire was first noticed Sunday, and has grown to about 1,325 hectares in size.
“That doesn’t represent a growth of in the last little while. All of the growth happened on the 2nd or 3rd.”
Smoke eased up and allowed firefighters to actually see the blaze.
Fire information officer Donna MacPherson says wetter, cooler weather in the past few days has helped.
“It knocked the fire behavior down quite a bit, which resulted in much less smoke in the area and it allowed the crews to get into areas they couldn’t get into before.”
