The wildfire near Harrison Lake is continuing to grow but the situation could be much worse than it is.
Fire Information Officer Donna MacPherson says the size is now 650 hectares an increase from yesterday’s 600 hectares.
“The winds didn’t materialize the way that we had thought they would and while it’s pushing the fire growth it’s not pushing it at accelerated way it was a couple of days ago
She says helicopters were in the air yesterday supporting ground crews but intense smoke prevented air tankers, including the martin Mars water bomber, from joining in.
Those pilots need to be able to see the ground in order to do their work.
There is still no containment on the fire.
It is also human caused.
