A Vancouver busker isn’t backing down from the comments he made in a video which has garnered just under 400 thousand views on YouTube in the span of one day. In the video, Daniel Zindler is balancing a rocker-roller board on a tube, four feet above the ground, when a child appears to touch the board, throwing him off balance and nearly causing him to fall.
Shaken by the near fall, Zindler had a message for the child’s parents.
“Be a parent, hey? Dude, when you get down you better run. You’re young, but you need to learn a lesson. Some people should really use a condom.”
Zindler says the only regret he has about his comments was his swearing.
“I stand by what I said, and I even stand by the joke I made that some people should really use a condom. I’m sure that comment might have offended the parents, which I think they very well deserved. I don’t think it was directed or would offend any child that was watching that show, or the child himself.”
The busker says he never received an apology from the parents, adding he feels he deserves one.
“I’m sorry, that was deserved. That was uncalled for. You need to watch your kid.”
In the video, the parents and child were nowhere to be found after Zindler’s performance.
“I didn’t actually see them leave, but by the time I was done, I definitely had an eye out for them. I definitely wouldn’t have minded talking to them kindly, especially since I wasn’t in the moment, I wasn’t startled anymore, time had passed. But unfortunately they had left by the time I was done the show.”
