A bizarre ending to the long weekend for a Vernon skydiver.
“It could’ve definitely gone a lot worse; he’s very fortunate that it ended the way it did.”
A man is lucky to be alive after he and his chute landed on some power lines this morning.
Sergeant Mike Moyer with Vernon RCMP says when they found him he was dangling some thirty feet in the air.
“We weren’t sure what his level of consciousness was. We had to wait approximately a half an hour for BC Hydro to be able to initiate the high rescue. Once we got Hydro there and we were able to confirm the Hydro was off we were able to bring him down.”
Moyer says the skydiver was doing a recertification with instructors and was experienced.
He was transported to hospital and is in stable condition
