Craft beer enthusiasts may soon be able to buy their favourite can of local brew in grocery stores.
That is if the executive director of B.C.’s Craft Brewers Guild has his way.
Ken Beattie would like to see B.C. beers sold the same way local wines will be sold on grocery store shelves.
“We have been talking since the announcement, we’ve been talking with the government on how to work with them to make that happen sooner than later.”
“We continue to work away with the private channel, the government channel and with the government. To kind of say ‘Hey now that we are three or four months into this we see there’s maybe some opportunity to look at some other things and change and tweak and move forward.'”
This idea comes after the B.C. government announced craft breweries, wineries and distilleries will now be able to sell each other’s products.
