Some good news if you’re a commuter in Surrey.
The city is the first municipality in the province to install a real time travel information system that’s designed to improve the flow of goods and vehicles.
Spokesperson Amer Afridi says electronic signs will be going up on the busier thoroughfares to alert drivers to congestion or other issues ahead.
“It will provide you the travel time information to all the public, and they will be able to use alternate routes if possible in order to alleviate or bypass that congestion.”
The city’s also working on an app that will provide the same information.
It’s costing nearly two-million-dollars with half of that provided by the city.
