It’s another twist in the road for two BC badminton players who were supposed to go the PanAm Games, but were accidentally signed up for another tournament.
Badminton players Derrick Ng and Adrian Liu may not be able to play in next year’s summer Olympics in Rio de Janiero.
Derrick Ng says next year is their last chance before they age out.
“We have to reschedule our whole plan and play the tournaments that we can play. Our ranking dropped quite a bit from not playing the PanAms. We need to figure out and strategically plan out our schedule so we can play the tournaments to make up the points.”
Ng says they have to play 17 or 18 tournaments by the end of December.
It’ll cost about $40,000 dollars.
The two have turned to crowdfunding to keep the dream alive – you can check out Derrick and Adrian’s crowdfunding site here.
