A pay it forward movement has been sparked in Chilliwack.
It began last weekend when a group of friends ran out of gas at Chilliwack’s Mt. Cheam before doing the popular hike.
Samantha Fischer says the driver had a plan.
“He comes up with an idea and he puts a note on our windshield that says we are low on gas and he paper clips thirty dollars to it, and it says if they can fill us up, they can take the money.”
They returned from the hike to a note that read “We gassed you up, pay it forward” and the money was still there.
“We were pretty excited. Relief was flooded right through me for sure. Such a nice feeling for someone’s generosity.”
Fischer says from now on SHE will bring a jerry can up to the mountain to help out anyone in the same situation.
She says her and her friends will also pick up garbage on the hike.
