Ridge Meadows Search and Rescue is trying to locate a man who was pulled from the waters along the Alouette River Sunday.
Rescue Manager Rick Laing says the call came in just before 7:00 pm.
It all started when a woman on a horse saw the man in the water.
“A horseback rider came across a male, appeared to be in some kind of distress on the river just past Allco Park. She assisted him to the river bank, and then rode off to call 911.”
When officials arrived, they couldn’t find him – or the woman who had rescued him.
“He’s uh – the information that we have is that he’s a middle-aged Native male, a tattoo on his left shoulder and left chest. Wearing blue shorts, brown belt and a red hat.”
Laing says it’s important both he or the woman come forward because officials want to make sure the man is safe.
The man was apparently tubing down the river when the incident occurred.
