The BC government plans to review the liquor laws it introduced last April.
Three months ago, BC Liquor Stores started opening on Sundays, staff installed refrigeration, and wine hit the grocery stores.
In particular, though, John Yap, parliamentary secretary for liquor reform, says he’ll look at the wholesale pricing model that was introduced.
“One of the things we’ve heard from some of the producers is the impact of the mark-up. We’re keeping an eye on that.”
Wine retailers have said the new wholesale model sent prices up, costing both business and consumers.
When asked how his review will affect retail prices, Yap said that’s not something the government controls.
